Mixed Bag of Weather for Newfoundland #nlwx


An area of low pressure currently centred east of Cape Breton Island is bringing a mixed bag of weather to Newfoundland.

As of now (9:30 am NT) all of Newfoundland is seeing snow with the exception of the Northern Peninsula.

By this afternoon, that snow is expected to change to rain over the south coast and the Avalon.

Central Newfoundland will see a transition over to a brief period of rain.

Along the west coast, precipitation is expected to remain as snow.

In Labrador, coastal areas will see snow from this low.

As the low departs on Monday, some wrap-around snow will continue in western Newfoundland and coastal Labrador.

Winds will gust between 70 km/h and 100 km/h across Newfoundland.

  • Marystown 15-25 cm

  • Gander 15-20 cm

  • Grand Falls-Windsor 20-30 cm

  • Port aux Basques 20-30 cm

  • Corner Brook 25-35 cm

  • St. Anthony 25-30 cm

  • Happy Valley-Goose Bay 10-15 cm

Rainfall forecast:

  • St. John's 10-20 mm

  • Marystown 10-20 mm

  • Gander 2-4 mm

  • Grand Falls-Windsor Trace

  • Port aux Basques 0 mm

  • Corner Brook 0 mm

  • St. Anthony 0 mm

  • Happy Valley-Goose Bay 0 mm
