Residents & Communities Encouraged to be Prepared During Hurricane Season

The Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment is advising the public to prepare for hurricane season.

The department is monitoring forecast information on the weather system now classified as Hurricane Dorian that is anticipated to track towards the province this weekend.

Residents are encouraged to be prepared for adverse weather conditions during hurricane season which typically concludes at the end of November.

Municipalities and local service districts are asked to review their emergency management plans and should ensure that infrastructure such as roads, ditches and drains are clear of debris and appropriate provisions are made for the delivery of services during anticipated weather events.
