NOTE: THE VEHICLES PICTURED ARE RANDOM AND THE PHOTO WAS TAKEN AT A DIFFERENT TIME.

Main Street Bridge in Corner Brook closed on September 4 as part of a replacement project. Main Street, from Mount Bernard Avenue intersection to Mill Road and Brook Street intersection, are temporarily closed to allow for construction to take place at the Main Street Bridge.

This temporary detour is expected to last approximately two months.

The traffic lights are blinking red at the intersection of Mount Bernard Avenue/Main Street and Mill Road/Brook Street.

We received several reports of people not using the intersection correctly, so earlier this week we paid a visit to the intersection. In just one hour we saw 17 people not properly adhering to the rules of the road.

A flashing red signal light means exactly the same as a stop sign: STOP! After stopping, proceed when safe and observe the right-of-way rules. That means if a vehicle was stopped at the intersection before you, you must allow them to proceed first.
