Around 7:00 pm on Sunday night RNC, along with the St John’s Regional Fire Department High Angle Rescue Unit, the Canadian Coast Guard Fast Rescue Craft and a Cormorant helicopter from Gander responded to the area of Signal Hill North Head Trail to a report of a male in medical distress.

The male was located by an RNC officer off the trail, he was approx 200 feet down over cliff and approx 60 feet up from oceans edge. The St John’s Regional Fire Department high angle unit under dark and windy conditions successfully reached the male and returned him to the trails edge where he was transferred to the Cormorant helicopter and transported to Health Science Centre.
