Driver charged after traffic stop in city centre

A 53-year-old driver faces criminal charges following a traffic stop in the city centre on Monday afternoon.

RNC Officers conducted the stop around 3 p.m. on September 28.

Police say the driver was operating a vehicle without insurance and had failed to transfer ownership of the vehicle.

The driver was also initially uncooperative with police and was charged with obstruction and public mischief.

The vehicle was impounded and tickets were issued.

The driver was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date on the criminal charges.
