Port au Choix youth charged with uttering threats

An investigation is ongoing after Port Saunders RCMP has charged a Port au Choix youth with uttering threats.

RCMP say that they RCMP received a report of threats by a male student at French Shore Academy in Port Saunders, Newfoundland and Labrador. The threats suggested violence towards his fellow students and school officials. Police officers attended the school and took the student into custody. At no time was the safety of the students and staff of the school at risk.

The young man appeared in Youth Court and was charged with three counts of uttering threats. He has been released from police custody on conditions including to keep the peace, abstain from contact with the victims and to not possess weapons or firearms.
