The federal government has awarded a $121.6-million contract for the construction of a new Canada Revenue Agency facility in St. John’s.
Public Services and Procurement Canada announced Monday that Pomerleau Inc. was awarded the contract to build the new Crown-owned facility at 80 Kelsey Drive.
The building will provide modern, accessible and purpose-built space for CRA employees and is intended to support the agency’s workforce and service delivery in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The contract includes requirements under the federal government’s Buy Canadian Policy to prioritize Canadian suppliers and materials throughout the project.
The government said the construction project will also create employment opportunities for local tradespeople.
Construction is expected to begin this summer, with the facility scheduled for completion in 2029.
