Two Vehicles Impounded in Separate RNC Traffic Stops in St. John's

Two drivers are facing multiple traffic-related charges after separate traffic stops by the RNC in St. John's on Sunday afternoon.

The first incident occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Kenmount Road, where officers with RNC Operational Patrol Services stopped a vehicle that was operating in a "sold to" status.

Police said the investigation determined the 47-year-old female driver was operating the vehicle with an expired driver's licence and without insurance. She was issued summary offence tickets for driving with an expired licence, operating a vehicle without insurance, and failing to transfer ownership. The vehicle was impounded.

Less than two hours later, at approximately 4:02 p.m., officers conducted another traffic stop on Ropewalk Lane after observing a vehicle with a peeling licence plate that was also listed in a "sold to" status.

The 30-year-old male driver was found to be driving with a suspended licence and without insurance. He received summary offence tickets for driving while suspended, operating a vehicle without insurance, and failing to transfer ownership. His vehicle was also impounded.
