Traffic Stop Results in Drug and Weapons Charges



A St. John’s man is facing more than a dozen charges consistent with drug trafficking. On April 29, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Operational Patrol Services officers stopped a vehicle in Goulds after observing a man in violation of court orders.


Police charged 35-year-old Sean Frampton with:

  • Careless use/storage of firearm

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

  • Possession of firearm with ammunition

  • Carrying a concealed weapon

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

  • Possession of a firearm knowing it’s unauthorized

  • Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition


Following further investigation by the Weapons and Drug Enforcement Unit further charges have since been laid:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking MDMA

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking clonazepam

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking tenazepam

  • Using a firearm in commission of an offence

  • Possession of a weapon obtained by commission of an offence


The accused appeared in court June 6 on the latest charges.
