Tim Hortons has launched a national hiring campaign aimed at recruiting 10,000 new local team members across Canada this summer.

The coffee and restaurant chain addressed its use of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, stating that roughly 4,000 of its approximately 110,000 employees were hired through the program. The company said that represents about 3.6 per cent of all restaurant roles and noted the number has declined steadily since 2024.

Tim Hortons said temporary foreign workers were hired in communities facing documented labour shortages and only after restaurant owners completed the federal approval process.

The company acknowledged that it had supported expanded access to the program during labour shortages following the COVID-19 pandemic, but said current economic conditions and high youth unemployment have reduced the need for expanded access in 2026.

In its announcement, Tim Hortons emphasized its commitment to local hiring and diversity, saying anyone legally entitled to work in Canada is welcome to apply.

Tim Hortons operates approximately 4,000 restaurants across Canada and says it contributes more than $7 billion annually to the Canadian economy through payroll, taxes, supplier purchases and community investments.
