Three young people escaped serious injuries after going airborne in single-vehicle crash in St John's on late Friday night.
Shortly before 9:20 p.m. emergency crews responded to a portion of Beaumont Hamel Way between the Trans Canada Highway (TCH) and Costco in Galway. Reports from the scene indicate, that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control of the vehicle hit a utility pole, crashed into an embankment then went airborne and rolled several times before coming to a stop.
The three young occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital with injuries not believed to be serious in nature. The vehicle sustained extensive damage in the crash. Crews placed yellow tape around the area to indicate that emergency services had already tended to the scene, until the vehicle could be removed during daylight hours. Personnel from Newfoundland Power were also required to attend to the scene.
