Stephenville Airport reopens under new ownership

The Stephenville Airport reopened on Friday.
The property, now owned by BTG Capital, will see a long-term investment strategy focused on operational revitalization, infrastructure enhancement and strategic commercial development initiatives, according to the company.
The firm's strategy includes evaluating opportunities across restoration and modernization of core airport infrastructure, expansion of aviation, cargo and logistics operations, military and defence-related activity, development of aerospace, defence and industrial partnerships, industrial and advanced manufacturing development and more.
Under former owner Carl Dymond, Transport Canada downgraded the airport to a registered aerodrome and the power was later disconnected due to unpaid bills.
