At least six people are dead and at least 31 others are injured after a gunman opened fire on a 4th of July Parade in Highland Park, Illinois.


The shooter remains at large and the motive is unknown.


The gunman started shooting shortly after the parade had started. He had gained access to a rooftop on Central Avenue and 2nd Street.


Police have identified 22-year-old Robert E. Crimo III as a person of interest. He is considered armed and dangerous.


Highland Park is a suburb located 40 km north of Chicago, Illinois.
