The GM Assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario is shutting down. It's unclear if the shutdown is temporary or permanent.


The move is expected to impact nearly 500 employees.


The plant produced the BrightDrop Zevo.


The 2.0-million-square-foot plant opened in 1989.
