RCMP tickets driver for excessive speed along Route 510

Forteau RCMP stopped a 58-year-old man for excessive speeding on Thursday, after an officer observed the vehicle going 57 km/h over the posted speed limit.
Police clocked a vehicle travelling at 137 km/h in an 80 km/h zone along Route 510 between Red Bay and Lodge Bay. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was ticketed for excessive speeding. His license was also suspended for seven days.
The latest traffic stop came just one day after a 25-year-old man was stopped by Forteau RCMP for travelling more than twice the speed limit in West St. Modeste. That driver was also ticketed and had his license suspended.
