The RCMP says nine offenders have been arrested and 68 charges laid during the first four months of an ongoing offender management initiative in the Trinity Conception area.

Police said six of the nine individuals remain in custody.

The initiative, launched in October 2025, focuses on identifying prolific offenders, ensuring compliance with court-ordered conditions and executing outstanding arrest warrants.

As part of the effort, officers have also investigated new criminal activity involving repeat offenders, including property crimes, as well as offences related to persons, weapons and drugs.

RCMP said all nine offenders were found to be in breach of court-imposed conditions. Of the 68 charges laid, 30 relate to failures to comply with court orders, while the remaining 38 involve other Criminal Code offences.

Police said the strategic approach is intended to keep repeat offenders remanded in custody, limiting their ability to engage in further criminal activity and improving public safety in local communities.

RCMP noted that continued monitoring and follow-up checks allow officers to respond quickly to breaches, while also recognizing individuals who are complying with their conditions.

The RCMP said similar offender management initiatives will continue in communities across Newfoundland and Labrador, with further results expected.
