RCMP investigating reports of metal objects found in Halloween candy in Labrador

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador is investigating after receiving three reports of small metal objects found inside treat-sized Coffee Crisp chocolate bars collected during Halloween in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
Investigators are working to determine the source of the affected candy.
Police are asking anyone who finds similar items in Halloween treats to contact the Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP detachment at 709-896-3383 or call 1-800-709-RCMP (7267).
The RCMP is also reminding parents and guardians across the province to carefully inspect Halloween treats before allowing children to eat them.
Police recommend checking for signs of tampering or manufacturing defects, ensuring packaging is intact and confirming that treats are recognizable products from trusted commercial brands.
Anyone concerned that a treat may have been tampered with should set it aside and contact their local police detachment immediately.
