RCMP charge two men for drug trafficking after overdose death

RCMP have charged two men from Old Perlican with drug trafficking as a result of investigating a suspected overdose death that occurred in a home in Victoria in October of 2020.

45-year-old Sean Layman and 27-year-old Greg Kelly each face charges of trafficking cocaine and trafficking methamphetamine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Both the RCMP and paramedics responded to a residence in Victoria, where a woman was found unresponsive. The woman was transported for medical attention and later died in hospital.

Evidence located at the home indicated the woman likely experienced a drug overdose.

The two men are scheduled to appear in court in Harbour Grace on February 9.
