RCMP arrest suspect in 2023 homicide of Franz Drosch

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit says 30-year-old David Faucher has been arrested in Saskatchewan in connection with the 2023 homicide of Franz Drosch.

Faucher was arrested by the Saskatchewan Marshals Service, RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador said Friday.

He was the subject of a Canada-wide warrant after being charged with first-degree murder earlier this year in connection with Drosch’s death.

Authorities are making arrangements to return Faucher to Newfoundland and Labrador.

The RCMP thanked the Saskatchewan Marshals Service and Saskatchewan RCMP for their assistance with the arrest.

Police said no further details are being released at this time to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

The RCMP said it expects to provide another update when appropriate.
