Provincial government continues with status quo for CBN wildfire victim relief

The provincial government will continue with support in place for the victims of the Conception Bay North wildfire this past summer.

Premier Tony Wakeham will also set up a Cabinet Committee on Wildfire Recovery and Safety that will include Minister of Justice and Public Safety Helen Conway Ottenheimer, Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs and Minister of Environment, Conservation and Climate Change Chris Tibbs, Minister of Finance, President of Treasury Board and Minister of Seniors Craig Pardy, and Minister of Social Supports and Well-Being Joedy Wall.

Families who lost their homes will continue to receive financial support and temporary housing while long-term solutions are being put in place.

Government will also match the funds raised through the recent ‘We Stand Guard Once More Benefit Concert’.
