The Town of Gander will receive $177,500 from the provincial government to help enhance tourism, stimulate economic development, and foster regional partnerships.
The funding, announced by Steve Crocker, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, will support the development of a new tourism strategy and the purchase of equipment to improve visitor experiences at local events and festivals — including the town’s signature production of Come From Away.
As a key service hub for the Kittiwake Coast, Gander is working to attract more visitors and extend their stays. The investment aims to strengthen the town's ability to host a broader range of year-round tourism events and tap into opportunities in the sport tourism sector. It also encourages collaboration with nearby communities to benefit the region as a whole.
