Proposed Removal of Skatepark at Kilbride Community Centre



The City of St. John’s is planning to make changes to the Kilbride Community Centre and playground area.


The changes include new swings, landscaping, additional community gardens, and a new basketball net. According to the City, the current skatepark adjacent to the baseball field is underutilized, as a result, there is a proposal is being considered to re-locate skate park equipment and replace it with games such as Four Square, Hopscotch, Snakes and Ladders and an obstacle course.


Within one kilometre is the Huck Williams skatepark on Chafe's Lane and can be used as an alternative location for skateboarding.


Residents can provide feedback on the proposed change. The deadline to provide feedback is Sunday, June 6.
