Police locate stolen vehicle and arrest suspect

On Sunday afternoon the RNC located a stolen vehicle operating on Kenmount Road in St. John’s.

Officers maintained close proximity with the vehicle until police saw two males flee into a residence in the area with one of the males known as a suspect in the multiple prior vehicle thefts.

When police spoke to the homeowner, the 23-year-old male suspect appeared and turned himself over to police and was arrested.

The accused faces charges of flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while prohibited, possession of property obtained by crime and multiple court order breaches.

The suspect was taken to the St. John’s city lockup and held to appear in court.
