Police investigating home invasion in Carbonear

The RCMP is investigating a home invasion that occurred on Water Street in Carbonear last night.

Police received a report of a home invasion in progress at a residence on Water Street.

A woman, who was inside the residence, answered a knock on the door and was assaulted by two masked males.

The intruders stole a quantity of prescription medications.

The woman escaped the residence without injuries and called for help.

At this time the suspects remain at large.

This incident is not believed to be random in nature.
