Newfoundland Power has applied to the province's Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities for approval of a $149.3-million capital budget for 2027.

The utility is also seeking approval for capital projects that will involve spending beyond 2027, as well as an order fixing and determining its average rate base for 2025 at approximately $1.42 billion.

The application is now before the Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities for review.

Applications for intervenor status and requests to make presentations must be filed with the board by 3 p.m. on June 24. Letters of comment will be accepted until 3 p.m. on Sept. 29.
