
Update: One man has died following a collision on Canada Day in St.John’s

Updated: One man is deceased following a serious motor vehicle collision eastbound on Pitts Memorial Drive, just East of Robert E. Howlett Memorial Drive
officers determined the collision involved a 2006 black Dodge Charger and a 2003 white and blue Suzuki motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle had sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital to seek medical attention. At least one person was taken to hospital after a serious collision on Pitts Memorial Drive on Canada Day morning.
A short time later at the hospital, the 40-year-old male from Conception Bay South who was operating the motorcycle was pronounced dead. The RNC sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased

Just before 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday emergency services raced to Pitts Memorial Drive just East of Heavy Tree Road for a collision involving a Motorcycle. The vehicle had dragged the motorcycle causing it to be entangled into the front of the vehicle, both vehicles finally came to a rest in a ditch.
Lanes on Pitts Memorial Drive going East between Heavy Tree Road and Killbride exit to go onto Bay Bulls Road were closed as police investigated the collision.
A number of teams with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary attended the scene such as Traffic Services, Police Dog Services and a drone unit.
The motorcycle operator was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
