Man arrested after assault ing security guard in St. John's

Just before 9:00 am on Sunday RNC officers were performing traffic control duties for the Tely 10 Road Race when they were alerted of a fight at a nearby business.

The police officer observed a man punch an on-duty security guard several times. The officers later discovered that the same man had thrown a cup of coffee over the security guard.

Police arrested the 43-year-old male for assault and assault with a weapon.

The accused was held for a court appearance.
