Liz Truss will be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Truss beat Rishi Sunak in the leadership contest and will take over from outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Since 2019 Johnson served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He announced his resignation in July following a series of resignations from his government and several scandals including holding parties at 10 Downing Street despite the lockdown rules.

Truss was the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs since 2021 and Minister for Women and Equalities since 2019.

Portions of her platform included cutting taxes and taking action to help people deal with the cost of living.
