Liberal Party names Jessica Cardill as new national director

The Liberal Party of Canada has appointed Jessica Cardill as its new national director.

The party announced the appointment, describing Cardill as an experienced leader in political operations, governance and campaign readiness.

Cardill is a lawyer who previously served as senior director and in-house counsel with the Liberal Party for more than five years. During that time, she held key responsibilities during two federal election campaigns, the 2025 Liberal leadership race and three national conventions.

Liberal Party president Sachit Mehra said Cardill would help strengthen the party's organizational operations ahead of future campaigns.

“Jessica brings the vision and experience we need to build a stronger, more effective organization for the future,” Mehra said.

Cardill said she was looking forward to working with Liberal volunteers, supporters and staff as the party invests in training, technology and organizational capacity.

The party said it recorded its best-ever first quarter for fundraising outside an election year and pointed to recent byelection victories that brought Tatiana Auguste, Danielle Martin and Doly Begum into Parliament.

The Liberals also said their April policy convention in Montreal was the largest in party history, drawing about 4,500 people.
