Impaired driver arrested in Carbonear

On Wednesday the RCMP arrested a man for impaired driving in Carbonear.

Police conducted a traffic stop on the 45-year-old man from Alberta on Goff Avenue.

The driver exhibited signs of alcohol impairment and failed a roadside breath test. Police transported the man to the Harbour Grace detachment where he provided breath samples that were twice the legal limit.

The man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

His driver’s licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
