Motorists in Newfoundland and Labrador will pay less at the pumps after the Public Utilities Board implemented its latest fuel price adjustment.

Gasoline prices fell by up to 2.9 cents per litre, while diesel prices dropped by up to 1.5 cents per litre on the Island. In western Labrador, diesel prices declined by 1.3 cents per litre.

Home heating fuels also saw modest decreases. Furnace oil on the Island fell by 1.27 cents per litre, while stove oil in western Labrador decreased by 1.10 cents per litre.

The Public Utilities Board said the adjustments were based on market data available as of the close of business on July 31, and did not reflect more recent activity in global energy markets.

The Board said its next regularly scheduled fuel price adjustment is set for Wednesday, Aug. 5.
