FFAW elects a new president today

Jason Sullivan has been rejected as a candidate for the president of the FFAW-Unifor by the union’s election committee. Sullivan calls the rejection of his nomination "a dark day for democracy."

That leaves two candidates in the race, Greg Pretty and Dave Callahan. The election was called after former President Keith Sullivan resigned.

Secretary-Treasurer Jason Spingle said, "a Constitutional Amendment put forth in 2018 at our triennial Convention was passed unanimously by delegates, with the objective of preventing members of an organization looking to replace the FFAW-Unifor from running for elected positions."

There will be a Joint Council Meeting by the FFAW today at the Comfort Inn Airport, where the election for a new President will take place via a secret ballot.
