Canada, United Arab Emirates Conclude Free Trade Agreement Negotiations

Canada and the United Arab Emirates have successfully concluded negotiations on a new Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, marking a significant step in strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries.

The announcement was made Friday in Toronto by Maninder Sidhu and Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.

Negotiations for the agreement began during Prime Minister Mark Carney's visit to the UAE in November 2025. The federal government said the agreement is one of the fastest trade negotiations Canada has ever completed.

Once implemented, the agreement is expected to strengthen bilateral trade and investment, improve market access for Canadian businesses, reduce trade barriers, enhance supply chain resilience, and create new opportunities for workers and businesses in both countries.

The federal government said the agreement reflects Canada's commitment to expanding international trade and diversifying export markets while deepening its economic relationship with the United Arab Emirates.
