Canada sending more military aid to Ukraine

Canada is sending more military aid to Ukraine.

The federal government has announced that Canada will send four M777 howitzers, ammunition and precision-guided Excalibur rounds.

Canada started purchasing the M777 howitzers during the Afghanistan war. The M777 is manufactured by BAE Systems' Global Combat Systems division.

The artillery piece is used by several countries other than Canada including Australia, India, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine and the United States.
