By-Election Day in Humber-Gros Morne #nlpoli
Residents in the district of Humber-Gros Morne will head to the polls to elect a new MHA today.
There are four candidates running. Liberal leader Andrew Furey is looking to secure a seat in the House of Assembly. Graham Downey-Sutton is running under the New Democratic Party banner, Graydon Pelley is running for the NL Alliance, and the Progressive Conservative Party has nominated Mike Goosney.
The district has only existed since 2015 and has been held by former Premier Dwight Ball. Prior to 2015, the area was split into the district of St. Barbe and Humber Valley. Both of these districts have typically switched between the Liberal and Progressive Conservative parties in past elections.
