BREAKING NEWS: New Pope Named

Robert Prevost will be the next Pope. He will be known as Pope Leo XIV and is from America.

133 Cardinals in the conclave selected the new Pope earlier today after white smoke was seen rising from the Sistine Chapel chimney. This is the second day of the conclave. A two-thirds supermajority vote is required to elect the new pope.

Since 533, the new pope has also decided on his regnal name.

There are thousands of people gathered in St. Peters Square to see the new Pope.
