One person sent to hospital following collision in Mount Pearl, Wednesday night

One person was sent to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries following a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Topsail Road and Commonwealth Avenue on Wednesday night.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m., Emergency services were called to the intersection of Topsail Rd and Commonwealth Ave in Mount Pearl for reports of a collision involving two vehicles, Upon arrival, Firefighters found a lone pickup in the intersection with significant damage, and other vehicle in a nearby parking lot with significant damage. Opponents were assessed by paramedics at the scene, and one was taken to hospital.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) had a portion of the intersection closed until a tow truck could arrive on the scene to remove the damaged vehicles. Traffic was blocked in the area for some time.
