The Provincial Government is planning to streamline all of the purchasing across all four health authorities.
This will lead to a savings of about $13-million annually.
Health Minister John Haggie says the present systems allows the health authorities to purchase their own material which he says is an unnecessary duplication of resources.
Central Health will assume control to buy all the things which are used in health care.
