Condemnation on New Corner Brook Long Term Care #nlpoli
Premier Ball announced back on Friday the construction of a new long-term care bed facility for Corner Brook.
The building will be designed, built, financed and maintained by the private sector, with resident care administered and provided by the public sector.
The announcement has drawn strong criticism from the NDP and CUPE. These groups argue that this move will cost the public more in the long run.
Government announced that this is necessary to achieve value for money and to make the long promised facility a reality.
St. John's Board of Trade says that this announcement is an "important milestone" in the provincial government's way of thinking.
The facility will be constructed on the new Western Region Memorial Hospital campus.
