World leaders gather in Alberta for G7 Summit

The 2025 G7 Leaders’ Summit is underway in Kananaskis, Alberta, welcoming leaders from the world's largest economies.


The meeting got underway on Sunday and will last until June 17.


Canada is the host country for this year, it is the 50th anniversary of the first meeting.


Prime Minister Mark Carney will welcome leaders of Italy, the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan.


The leaders are expected to focus on the global economy and security. It will be held at a time when U.S. President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on most attendees.
