Winter storm expected for parts of the province

We might be heading into the second week of May, but some parts of the province could potentially see a winter storm.

Areas from Stephenville to Gros Morne and east to Grand Falls-Windsor could see 5 to 15 cm of snow Monday night through Tuesday morning.

Similar amounts are expected up the Great Northern Peninsula but the snow will fall from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. Winds will also gust to about 80 km/h.

For southeastern Labrador, snowfall amounts of 15 to 30 cm are possible. Winds will gust to between 80 and 110 km/h. This will occur Tuesday night through Wednesday.

Over all areas, the amounts of snow will vary depending on elevation.
