Trump lashes out on social media and ends trade talks with Canada

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the United States is ending all trade talks with Canada immediately.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the reasoning forstopping talks is because of the digital services tax.

The tax requires foreign and domestic large businesses to pay tax on certain revenue earned from engaging with online users in Canada if they meet certain conditions.

Prime Minister Mark Carney is holding a meeting of the Prime Minister’s Council on Canada-U.S. Relations.
