Thousands of dollars worth of equipment stolen off longliner

Ivan Benoit is wondering who would steal thousands of dollars worth of equipment from his longliner that was docked at the Cape St. George Wharf.

Theives made off with radar, all of the deck lights and bars and a lobster block. Benoit believes that the thieves attempted to make off with the life raft too but determined that it was too heavy.

In total, about $6,000 worth of equipment was stolen.

The longliner was also new, only being delivered from Nova Scotia last September.

While RCMP has been notified, Benoit is offering a reward for details that leads to the return of the equipment.
