The Rogers Centre could soon be no more.

Rogers and Brookfield Asset Management have reportedly suggested replacing Rogers Centre with a smaller, baseball-specific stadium plus residential towers, office buildings, retail stores and public space.

The new venue would be constructed on the southern end of the current stadium and adjacent parking lots, while the mixed-use development would be built on the northern portion of the site.

An alternate location for the new baseball park would be on the Quayside property next to Lake Ontario.

The building opened in 1989.
