Pope Francis doing well after surgery

The Vatican says that Pope Francis is doing well after undergoing surgery for 'severe' narrowing of the colon.

The 84-year-old pope was in surgery for three hours.

He is staying at Rome's Gemelli Polyclinic hospital where there is a suite reserved for the pope.

It is expected that Pope Francis will deliver a Sunday blessing from the hospital.

Pope Francis has been the pope since March 13, 2013.
