Number of influenza cases increase

The Department of Health and Community Services is reporting an increase in the number of influenza cases across the province.

From November 19 to November 25 there have been 42 new cases of influenza.

In total, 11 people have been hospitalized, one person is in critical care, and there have been two deaths.

At the national level, influenza activity has crossed the seasonal threshold, indicating the start of influenza season.
