Marino Signs $26.4 Million Contract With Pittsburgh Penguins

John Marino has signed a six-year contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday valued at $26.4 million.


The contract extension will begin with the 2021-22 season. It has an average annual value of $4.4 million according to the NHL.


He scored 26 points (six goals, 20 assists) in 56 games last season, his first in the NHL, finishing second among Penguins defensemen behind Kris Letang (44 points; 15 goals, 29 assists) and fourth in the NHL in rookie scoring at the position.


The 23-year-old defenseman currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers, 154th overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
