Flight carrying 242 people crashes in India

Air India Flight 171 from Ahmedabad to London has crashed just after take off in Ahmedabad.

The aircraft in question is a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with registration VT-ANB according to Flightradar24.

The plane was carrying 242 passengers and crew members. Of these, 169 are Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, one is Canadian, and seven are Portuguese nationals.

The injured are being taken to the nearest hospitals.

Air India is giving its full cooperation to the authorities investigating this incident.
