Downtown Pedestrian Mall is open for another year

The St. John's Downtown Pedestrian Mall is open for another year.

The City has acquired funding from the provincial government to host four concerts at the Courthouse on Water Street this year, as part of the Come Home Year celebration.

In an effort to make the mall more accessible, the city has introduced BlindSquare. BlindSquare is an app that helps blind, deafblind and partially sighted individuals better navigate areas.

This year the mall will be on Water Street from Adelaide Street to Prescott Street, and George Street from Adelaide Street to Water Street.

Sections of the road will be closed during mall hours.

There is a selection of free and paid parking in the downtown area. MetroBus and GoBus will also serve the area.

The Pedestrian Mall will close for the season on September 5.
