The Los Angeles Dodgers outlasted the Toronto Blue Jays in a historic 18-inning showdown Monday night, earning a 6–5 victory to take a 2–1 lead in the World Series.

The marathon Game 3, which tied the record for the longest contest in World Series history by innings, was decided when Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off home run to centre field in the bottom of the 18th.

Toronto took an early 4–2 lead thanks to a three-run blast from Alejandro Kirk in the fourth inning. But the Dodgers clawed back, led by Shohei Ohtani, who hit two home runs, two doubles, and reached base nine times — a new postseason record.

Both bullpens were tested to their limits. The Dodgers used 10 pitchers, setting a World Series single-game record.

The Blue Jays remained resilient throughout the extra-inning battle but couldn’t contain Freeman’s final swing, which sealed Los Angeles’ second straight extra-inning win at home.

The Dodgers now hold a 2–1 advantage in the best-of-seven series, with Game 4 scheduled for Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium.
